So about 65 million years ago, the dinosaurs and I were supposed to post up this interview with zippybluedwarf
T_T I am so sorry it has taken this long. I have been extremely busy and only the past few days have I really been coming on dA to do more than accept group submissions.
A while back they won the Halloween contest with an awesome entry: zippybluedwarf.deviantart.com/…
Here's what they had to say:
1) Your bookmark "Bats Bats Bats" was pretty awesome! Would you like to tell us how you made it/the process behind coming up with the idea? Any thing else about it you might want to add in?
Thank you! I love the imagery of halloween--the silhouettes and shadows, witches flying across the moon, leaf-less trees, and most of all, bats and creepy old haunted houses! This contest was a great reason to put some of these together!
2) What style or type of art do you usually work with?
This bookmark, like most of my art, is completely made from paper. I cut shapes and designs out of colored cardstock with small scissors or an exacto knife and then glue layers together. I really like to work in small scale, and I have to use tweezers to handle many parts I cut out!
3) And finally... are you more of a bookmark maker, a bookmark collector, or just a bookmark appreciator? (or any combination of these, of course!)
I suppose I would consider myself a bookmark maker. Bookmarks are a great way to use up interesting scraps from my larger projects. They are also not as time consuming to create, which is definitely a plus when science (my "real life" pursuit) steals all my time. For this reason, I foresee many bookmarks are to come in the near future!
